Sirius Stuff!
I particularly enjoy Tony Touches show on Tuesday nights on Shade45. Also the "All out Show" I can appreciate as well. DJ Kay Slay's show is kind of week but it has it's moments. The best show to listen to on Friday nights and I wish it was almost every night is DJ Premier's show 10-2am on Hip Hop nation.
I also enjoy listening to Backspin as well and the Reggae channel 32. The Chill network is also a solid bonus for my listening pleasures. One thing I will say is that it is flooded with a certain kind of rap music, namely gangsta rap, a lot negative energy style of rap music. Now I grew up listening to both ends of the culture when it came to rap music. So I enjoyed my KRS One, A Tribe Called Quest, N.W.A., Tim Dog, Nas, B.I.G., Casual, Digital Underground, Slick Rick, just to name a few the list could really go on. But what these channels fail to do is glorify or celebrate the maturity Rap music has undergone over the last 3 decades. In other words at the end of the day, I would still prefer my play list of music then what I have decided to pay for.
As a DJ myself, and having done radio in the past and produced my own shows for 3 years as well as stage tours, how can I have my own show on a Sirius channel and or my own station? I take the Sirius movement very Siriusly.
For instance, my colleague has XM in his vehicle and we switched vehicles for the next week because I'm going on vacation. So while he enjoys my Sportster for the next couple of days I have his XM transmitter. I Siriusly cannot wait to get back my truck. Even the signal strength is stronger with Sirius.
So with that said, can you provide me a step by step process as to how I can go about having my own channel or at least a show?
Siriusly Best Regards,
That Guy
P.S. Siriusly, I'm Sirius about blogging this.
Additional:
I also like the fact that on Tuesdays no matter what channel I'm on I receive a S-Alert showing me that my favorite show at 8pm is begining within minutes. That's just some cool sh*t! Yes I like that it's uncencsored, I enjoy the fact that I am listening to clean, crisp, digital quality music devoid of commercials. Satellite radio is good for a man like me because I deeply feel that Canadian broadcasting is decades behind its programming. Being a DJ for over 14 years now has definitely influnced my ability to analyze such things. Take care for now and it's about time you got Sirius with your radio!
Peace.
